I love to see your smile
Won't you stay with me a while
And we can walk together into another day
For once, for this time
Won't you tow the other line
Ignore my insecurities and throw your cares away
You need me
And I need you
Now, in this time and in this place
I can feel your spirit
Move, like a rhyme and not a race
Lifting me up out of these
Blues I've been living with for far too long
I'm not that strong, no
You're everything to me
You can be my lifeline
(Won't you throw me a lifeline)
The ship's out of port
And the storm that came before
Has left a wave of uncertainty in its place
You don't like being the one
Constantly undone
But to try and keep the peace is more than you can take
So just let go
I'll be there
Now, in this time and in this place
I can feel your spirit
Move, like a rhyme and not a race
Lifting you up out of these
Blues you've been living with for far too long
You're not that strong, no
You everything to me
I can be your lifeline
Now, in this time and in this place
I can feel your spirit move.....
Now, in this time and in this place
We can feel our spirits
Move, like a rhyme and not a race
Lifting us up out of these
Blues we've been living with for far too long
We can be strong, oh
If you stay here with me
If you can be my lifeline
I will be your lifeline
If you can be my lifeline
I will be your lifeline
Wake me early
Tuck me in at night
In this dusty bedroom
Beside the porch light
No room for answers
Lost is all i found
Grace how sweet your sound
Church was held on sunday
We slept in till noon
Prayin Jesus forgive us
Over the mornin news
It was never perfect
But with you I didn’t mind
Just look at me one more time
Wrap a string around my ankle
Let it fray
But name in the letters
Couldn’t make you stay
The water froze my fingers
You felt it in your bones
And grace will lead me home
Winter came early
Stayed way past spring
And in the early morning
I can hear you sing
It was never perfect
But with you I didn’t mind
Just look at me
Just look at me
Just look at me one more time
Amazing grace
How sweet your sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now i may be found
I was blind but now
Was blind but now
Now I see
Winter came early
Stayed past spring
And in the early morning
I can hear you sing
Si me detengo un momento,
Puedo escuchar las aves cantar.
Si me detengo un momento,
Puedo apreciar tu creación.
Y es que tu estas en mi.
Puedo sentir tu amor.
Puedo cantar una nueva canción de amor,
una canción de paz.
Ayúdame a ver con tus ojos
Y poner a un lado mi orgullo,
Derrumbar todas las barreras
Verte dentro y fuera de mi.
Déjame ver mas allá
Restaurar y perdonar
Cantar una nueva canción de amor,
una canción de paz
We are one together
No more pain or sorrow
I hear echoes of a new song of love
I hear echoes of a new song of hope,
a new song of love
Cantar una nueva canción de amor,
una canción de paz
It aint easy livin' this life
Who are you
Who am I
Who gets to laugh and
Who get to cry
What do you do and what do I see
Are you the same person that I thought you to be
What do you see and who am I
Does anybody ever truly realize who you are
It aint easy livin' this life
Who are you
Who am I
The grass is always greener on the other side
I'm doing what you want me to
You're doing what I want you to
But if we stepped into these shoes
Is that the things we really do
We all got a problem that we're trying to solve and
we've all got something that makes us feel better than anything
It aint easy livin' this life
Look to the stars would you people
How do you feel and
what's your ideal
Are you making your meals
Are you paying your bills
Can you balance your life
With your work and your life
Nothing makes you feel right and
you've still got no time
It's hard to feel good
Your making everyone mad
You wonder how this could happen
You're doing the best you can
I know how you feel
But maybe in a different way
Cause we're all just the same
Ya we're all just the same
Cause we've all got a problem that we're trying to solve
And we've all got something that makes us feel better than anything
It aint easy livin' this life
Look to the stars would you
Well I hope I see you later
Because it’s time for me to go
That’s my ride that just pulled over
It sure was good to know you
Now go answer your calling
Go and fill somebody’s cup
And if you see an angel falling
Won’t you stop and help them up
Because we are each other’s angels
And we meet when it is time
We keep each other going
And we show each other signs
Sometimes you will stumble
Sometimes you’ll just lie down
Sometimes you will get lonely
With all these people around
You might shiver when the wind blows
And you might get blown away
You might lose a little color
But don’t you ever lose your faith
Thank you for the water
I thought I was gonna die out here in the desert but you quenched my thirst
Let’s break a little bread together
I’ve got a little manna, It was a gift
From somebody who was passing by
And offered me a lift
Now go answer your calling
Go and fill somebody’s cup
And if you see an angel falling
Won’t you stop and help them up
Your love’s like a river that once flowed so deep
It rests in heart now, forever to keep
We’ll always cherish your wonderful smile
As life goes on along now mile after mile
Our dreams that we had will always be near
The songs that we sang will always ring clear
Our still nights together and our long sunny days
Will be with us always, and always will stay (in our hearts)
Our cherished children are blessed with your light
And the others that you’ve touched, to help make their way bright
Yes you loved them all, and you loved just we three
And now and forever a family we’ll be
Now the sounds of the raindrops they echo your name
And the soft fading sunset brings evenings refrain
And as nights long shadows takes us away
The light from your our heart will show us the way
Yes you loved them all, and you loved just we three
And now and forever a family we’ll be
It's not fair
And it's not clear
There a thousand things I wish I’d said
When you were near
I can scream
And I can fight
I can shake my fist at God above
But that won't make me right
Won't make me right
And I know you're looking down
And I know you hear me now
So hear my prayer
Give me guidance when I can't see
Give me faith when I can't believe
I know that's how you'd be if
You were standing here with me
Give me Love when my love grows weak
Give me courage when life is bleak
Lord I pray please help me be
Like the angel you sent to me
Through my words
And through my deeds
I will pass along the love you gave
In your memory
Your memory
Give me guidance when I can't see
Give me faith when I can't believe
I know that's how you'd be if
You were standing here with me
Give me Love when my love grows weak
Give me courage when life is bleak
Lord I pray please help me be
Like the angel you sent to me
This is a project designed to honor the life of one who knew how to love well-- Aimee Wallis Buchanan. Her hospitality, compassion, and care for all God’s people, especially those on the margins of society, were an inspiration to many. Her love of the arts and her passion for youth ministry made a lasting impact on generations of young people.
In gratitude for her life of service, a variety of musical artists have lent their voices and talents to create this album. Like Aimee’s life and friendships, the contributors of these tracks come from many backgrounds. Some are lifetime professional musicians. Some have never recorded before. Some are youth, while others are older. Some knew Aimee only a short time, while others were blessed to know her for much of their lives. But all of them, in some form or another, were impacted by her life and felt a calling to give something back in gratitude.
There are a wide variety of musical styles included in the album-- from rock to folk, blues and ballads, and symphonic music as well. This only makes sense, because Aimee’s interests were wide and she was a welcoming presence for many different kinds of people, with diverse styles and ways of being in the world.
The album is offered up to support Asheville Youth Mission, a non-profit ministry that she and her husband Bill created several years ago. AYM brings hundreds of teenagers every year from across the country to serve in a variety of ministry and service agencies in the Asheville, NC area. AYM continues today as part of Aimee’s legacy, and through the ongoing support of the broader community, it will keep doing so for many years to come.
We hope you enjoy the album and that it inspires you to keep loving life and loving each other, in honor of a life well loved.
